The Alliance of Feminist CSOs is a political but non-partisan collective of passionate Feminist organizations and individuals coming together to champion the inclusion and election of women to high political offices in Ghana. We boldly and openly support women candidates who put themselves up to break glass ceilings- and to support them in such positions to shift and balance political power for women.
It is a fact, that the active participation of Ghanaian women in politics and decision-making is essential for building a better and a more democratic Ghana. Although Ghanaian women constitute approximately 51% of the population, they are woefully underrepresented in the most critical political leadership positions and offices. It has been the case for the past several decades, and it is time to do something about it.
We strongly believe in challenging the status quo of women’s exclusion and under-representation in political leadership in Ghana. We believe in the possibility for Ghanaian women to ably serve in the highest offices of the land. If you believe, as we do, in the ability and willingness of Ghanaian women to lead in high political offices, we invite you to join us to make it happen. We believe passionately in the power of Ghanaian men and women to work together to solve our biggest challenges and to make Ghana a more inclusive society.
Membership Of The Group
Membership is open to Feminist organizations, as well as Female and male CSO leaders, who share in our feminist/ gender equality principle.
To join, one must:
- Be a leader or manager in a CSO that focuses women’s empowerment or gender equality in general.
- Have a track record of engagement and support for advancement of women and gender equality.
- Institutions must be known feminist or women’s rights with demonstrated commitment to gender equality.
- So far the Alliance has about 80 membership comprising of the above categories of members.

Mission
- Create opportunities for capacity building and representation of women and girls.
- Advocate for adequate representation of women at all levels of leadership
- Implement programs and activities to celebrate and address their peculiar challenges.
Objective
- To promote and support election of women into offices.
- To advocate for the appointment of women into critical political/leadership positions.
- To prepare and support young girls develop leadership capabilities.
- To defend female candidates against both vicious intra-partly and external misogynistic and sexist attacks
- To support women who attain high political office succeed.
